Redang Island (again): 6-9 September 2007

For this trip to Redang, I have so much to thank God for.

Where do I start?

For one, I don't think we could have asked for better weather conditions: sunshine on our shoulders and relatively calm seas…although the first day's sea conditions were choppy and made "yours truly" truly seasick. And on one of the dives, we had some strong drift underwater. But it made for a good drift dive across the reef :)

God knows I love turtles, pelagics and the big ones, and I had encounters with them during this trip. On three separate dives, we spotted three separate turtles. It's a magnificent... (more)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...
...God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good...
...And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures..."…So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems…And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas..."

One For Malaysian Badminton

Over the weekend, I was back in my hometown, and had the privilege of watching the live telecast of the Indonesian Open badminton tournament (my parents have Astro, I don't....anyway, they were showing it on TV1 as well). The semis were played on Saturday, and the finals on Sunday.
The singles final match-up was between Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei and China's Bao Chun Lai. To be honest, I didn't have much hope that Chong Wei could triumph over a very polished Bao. I watched the Bao-Taufik Hidayat semifinal a day earlier, and Bao was, as usual, consistently in his element.
How I was proven... (more)

My results read:
"You're Thundercats!! Okay, Thundercats were great, but they were a little silly. I mean, c'mon. Admit it. Thunder...THUNDER...THUNDERCATS! Hehe...okay, so, you don't take yourself too seriously, you're a little pushy, but people just love you. I bet you watched this show. Admit it. You loved it."

The result of yesterday's 2nd leg Champion's League semifinal match reads:
AC Milan 3 Manchester United 0.
AC Milan are through to the finals on an aggregate score of 5-3. Going into yesterday's match, Milan was down 3-2 from the first leg match at Old Trafford. But with goals from Kaka, Seedorf and Gilardino, Milan capitalised on a below-par performance by Man Utd (big game jitters?) to crush their opponents, and set up a repeat of the Champion's League final with Liverpool two years ago in Instanbul.
Milan started out this season with many obstacles to be overcomed. Nearly kicked out of... (more)

Yes, I've been tagged....
"People who are tagged should write a blog post of 6 weird things about them as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says 'you are tagged' in their comments and tell them to read your blog."
Weird Thing No. 1

Of Reports & Testimonies

I was flipping through a church’s annual report again recently. As usual, it reports on the financials (where the funds of the church has been channelled to, etc…very important for accountability, even the apostle Paul went through great pains to ensure proper accountability of his monetary gifts), and it reports & lists the events/happenings/functions/occasions that each ministry had organised.

On top of these things that are found in the church report, I wish I could see people’s testimonies being reported: testimonies by people in the church about how God has worked in their... (more)

The Lord said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this (build a tower that reaches to the heavens), then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." (Genesis 11:6-7)

As I'm flying in airplanes, starting diving, working at bridges and high-rise buildings under construction, I've come to wonder with awe about how much man have gone beyond themselves to achieve what we've achieved.

Man, being land creatures, have somehow figured out a way to defy gravity and... (more)
